A skin fade is a haircut that involves the hair gradually increasing in length from the shortest hair at the nape of the neck to the longest hair at the crown of the head. The hair at the bottom is cut extremely short, to a grade zero or using a razor, so that the skin is visible. This creates a high-contrast appearance from bottom to top. It’s a great way to bring classic cuts up to date and can be added to any short or mid-length style you could think of. Pompadours, crops, crew cuts and buzz cuts can all benefit from the skin-fade treatment! Due to the nature of childrens skin being more sensitive than adults skin there is always the possibility that the childs skin could break out in razor burn or shave rash, if you notice signs of burn or rash, there are a number of steps you can take to soothe your childs skin and get rid of your razor burn. You can apply a cold compress to reduce immediate swelling and redness. You can also use petroleum jelly or aloe vera gel for instant relief. If this happens you should avoid a Skin Fade hair cut until later years once the child's skin has matured.
